About Us:
☆ This centre is a non-profit organisation established in 2024 by a group of Hong Kong immigrants to the U.K.
☆ With Jesus’s love, we aim to teach children listening and speaking Cantonese, reading and writing traditional Chinese characters, as well as to spread Hong Kong heritage.
☆ Children’s picture books are used as teaching materials. Self-written curriculums are tailor-made to meet the learning needs of children of different ages.
☆ Classes are facilitated with interesting activities for fun learning.

☆ The tutors are all from Hong Kong and can speak fluent Cantonese and write traditional Chinese characters.
☆ Possess recognised qualifications in Chinese Language and Literature in Hong Kong, and some hold college and university degrees.

Parents and Student Guidelines 家長與學生守則 2025-26
1. Students should arrive at school on time. If there is any reason, e.g. illness or out of the town, parents should apply for an absence from the tutor beforehand. Parents can only accompany children to the entrance of the classroom. There are some chairs in the school reception area at G/F where parents can relax or chat with others when students are in class.
學生應準時到校上課，除特別原因:如生病,外遊等,並須事先向導師請假。家長只能陪送孩子到教室門口，請勿內進，家長休息閒聊可在樓下大堂接待處。
2. The pickup time is 12:00 noon. Please be punctual, otherwise, your children may be out of care in school after this period. Please refer to our Safeguarding Policy Paper.
請家長於正午12:00準時接放學，否則孩子無人照顧。請參閱本中心的英國保護兒童政策文件。
3. Parents must present the pick-up cards issued by the Centre to pick up their children after school. If parents forget to take this card, they must provide a valid identification upon pick-up to our staff.
家長放學時須出示本中心發出的接送卡接孩子放學。若家長忘記攜帶此卡，在接孩子放學時，必須向本中心教職員提供有效的個人資料核實身份。
4. Students are required to wear name badges during class so that our staff can take care of and identify them.
學生上課時需要配戴名牌，以便本中心教職員照顧及識別學生。
5. Newly enrolled students will have a school bag. All students will have a folder, 2 parent pick-up cards and a student name badge. If these things are lost, you must notify our staff and apply for a replacement. An administrative fee of £5 will be charged for each replacement.
新生將獲發一個書包；全體學生獲發一個文件夾、兩張家長接送證、一個學生名牌。上述物品如有遺失，必需通知本中心教職員及辦理補領手續，各項補領均需收取行政費£5。
6. Students should prepare for the session. If anyone needs to go to the toilet, this should normally be done before the lesson or during the break time.
學生上課前或課間休息時，請先上洗手間，並作好上課的預備。
7. Students should listen and follow the tutor's instruction, follow the class rules, and complete the assignments. Any electronic product is not allowed in the classroom.
學生需認真上課，遵從導師教導及課堂規則，準時完成課業。學生不得攜帶任何電子產品進入教室。
8. Students should keep safe. Dangerous items such as knives and hot boiling water are prohibited to bring into the classroom. During break time, students are not allowed to leave the classroom except going to the washroom with permission. Students should not be chasing each other.
學生需注意安全，嚴禁攜帶危險物品進入學校，如利刃，滾燙熱水等。至於課間休息時間，除經許可去洗手間之外，不得離開教室，更不可追逐打鬧。
9. Students should take good care of the school property. It is not permitted to write on desks, chairs, or walls etc. If, under tutor’s permission, using anything in the classroom, it should be returned to the original place.
學生需愛護公物，嚴禁在桌椅和牆壁上塗鴉。使用教室物品前，先徵得導師同意，用後並放回原處。
10. Eating food or chewing gums are strictly prohibited in classrooms or corridors. Only drinking water is allowed in the school area. Any litter should be put into the rubbish bin.
教室及走廊上禁止進食及嚼口香糖。校內只允許喝清水，所有垃圾應丟入垃圾桶內。
11. Parents are not allowed to take any photos of school events and put them on social media. Our center will, at its discretion, post photos of the events on our Facebook page, but having the students’ faces blurred or covered out.
在上課學校內舉辦的各項活動，嚴禁拍照放在社交媒體上。而本中心會酌情將活動的照片放上臉書專頁，但是會將各位孩子面孔模糊或遮蓋之後才放上。
12. Parents must respect the copyright of our teaching materials and must not photocopy or distribute it on any social media.
家長須尊重本中心教學版權，不可影印或發放有關資料在任何社交媒體。
13. No refund will be given for any reason after the application and payment.
報名及交費後，任何理由退學，本中心一概恕不退款。
14. The above guidelines are issued by our Management Committee. The Committee reserves all the right of change and interpretation. For those students who disobey the rules and severely disturb the class, the school will issue a warning to the students and contact the parents. If the students remain with their behaviour, they will be expelled from the school.
上述守則由本中心管理委員會制定，並保留一切解釋和修改權。若學生不遵守規則，嚴重攪擾課堂秩序，導師將給予警告並通知家長，若學生行為仍沒改善，本中心將勒令其退學。
15. "Parent-child Reading Program."
Our Centre will launch a "Parent-child Reading Program." Each class will have a collection of designated books for students to borrow freely. Students may borrow one book per week, with a maximum borrowing duration of two weeks per book. If a book is lost or damaged, students/parents must notify the class teacher and compensate for the book's cost (including shipping).
Parents are suggested to set a designated bookshelf. This will help children develop the habit of returning books to their proper place. Parents are recommended to arrange a quiet time and a suitable reading space at home to read with your child or tell them stories. This program aims to encourage students to read Chinese story books with pleasure.
借閱圖書-親子共讀計劃
本中心在課堂以外推出「借閱圖書-親子共讀計劃」，各班級有若干本指定的圖書供同學每週借閱，讓同學自由選擇圖書；每周安排借閱一本圖書，每本最多借閱兩星期；圖書如有遺失或破損，同學/家長必須通知班老師，家長需賠償該圖書的價錢(包括運費)。
建議家長在家給孩子設置一個放置圖書的書架，讓孩子看完圖書擺放整齊。家長也按家庭需要，特別安排一個安靜時段，一個合適的閱讀空間，與孩子一起閱讀圖書或說故事。此計劃純屬鼓勵性質，讓孩子喜歡中文圖書。
16. Adverse Weather Arrangements
Due to heavy rain and strong wind warnings in the UK, our Centre has outlined the following measures for adverse weather conditions:
● If Cantell School remains open on the day of the class, the lessons will proceed as usual. However, parents must assess the situation and decide whether it is safe for their child to attend.
● If your child cannot attend due to adverse weather, please notify our Center via the WhatsApp group so that the class teacher is informed and will not worry about the safety of you and your child.
● In the event of weather warnings, our Center will closely monitor the situation and notify parents via WhatsApp messages by 9:15 a.m. on the day of class.
● If classes are cancelled due to weather conditions, our Center will notify parents about make-up lessons or refund arrangements as soon as possible.
惡劣天氣安排
鑑於英國時有大雨和大風的警告訊號,本中心對有關惡劣天氣的安排措施如下:
● 若上課當日 Cantell School 仍對外開放,本中心的課堂會如常進行，但家長必須要按實際情況,在安全情況下決定是否讓自己孩子到校上課。
● 如家長未能出席課堂需要請假，請透過 WhatsApp 群組通知本中心,讓班主任知悉情況,避免擔心 貴家長及 貴子女的安全。
● 如遇有關天氣的警告訊號，本中心會密切留意天氣變化，在上課當日上午 9 時15 分或之前，盡快以 WhatsApp 訊息通知家長。
● 如本中心因天氣影響而停課，將會盡快通知補課或退款安排，敬請留意。
